This place is new and is by far in the top 3 eateries in the area. the oysters are fresh and reasonably priced (as is everything) The crab bisque is excellent with real blue crab, steamed shrimp is fresh and I highly recommend the white chocolate key lime pie. the hostess, Hannah, was a sweetheart even though she was getting beat up on the holiday weekend (memorial day) about seating, which brings us to my only complaint..the seating is VERY limited so capacity is low. They seriously need to rethink that.. Once we were seated the service was excellent as was the food and the prices are very very good. This place has potential for sure.

Food was great, beer selection solid, and was very affordable. They were so busy on Memorial Day weekend and a little understaffed so I can understand the complaint above but should definitely not 'avoid' because some guy was miffed at slow holiday weekend service as was everywhere else in town this weekend... I've had oysters all over the country and the raw were as fresh as they come. The staff was super friendly and (at the bar) it took less than 30 seconds for our party of 4 to get a beer.

I stopped by there for lunch and was pleased with the mahi po boy. It could have had more spice and kick to it but I enjoy the spicier side of the food pyramid. The Mac and cheese was decent but nothing remarkable. I'll be back to try a few more things on the menu. They have a good thing going in Port St. joe.

Beyond satisfied. Had a very nice date night here, Alaskan snow crab as an appetizer. And a dozen raw oysters, and bacon cheddar and feta cheese covered oysters as our entrees. The waiter kept the red stripes coming the whole time and service was wonderful! Best raw bar in the area.

Shrimp and oysters were good but the crab claws were absolutely amazing. You can tell the good places in a small town because the locals eat there and this place was packed with locals and tourists alike. If you sit at the bar you may even get a few free raw oysters...

The raw Oysters were the best I've had this year! And the Shipwrecked oysters have an amazing flavor. Whenever they get a full bar, it'll be the perfect beachside restaurant. Our server was awesome, and he gave great recommendations on the food as well as history on the oysters.

Amazing food, wonderful service and happy bellys ; ))) My husband raved about the oysters, killed 3 dozen actually. My family split a lot of the sides which were soooo good. Cheese grits were AMAZING, we also had the Mac and cheese casserole and zucchini and squash which were super delish! Parents had the Poboy and shrimp( peeled and deveined) , the best ever! 5 stars across the board. Will be back soon!!!!

Everything about our meal was fantastic! Thank goodness we came here on the second day of our trip, because we will definitely be going back! We had the Mexico Beach oysters, which were fantastic (and I don't even like oysters), stuffed shrimp, crab stuffed grouper, shrimp scampi pasta, & 1/2 lb of the hot steamed shrimp. The mac'n'cheese is yummy, and the key lime pie is to die for!!!! We seemed to have gotten there right before the dinner rush, which begins around 5pm central time, so service was fast & friendly! Highly recommend this hidden gem on Hwy 98 across from St. Joe Beach!

This place is a MUST if visiting or living in Port Saint Joe or Mexico Beach area! The service is good, the food is amazing! We have eaten here several times and everything we have tried has been amazing. The oysters are great! The tuna dip delicious! The crab bisque is wonderful! Can't say enough good things about this place. If you go and there is a wait, I promise you won't regret waiting! Friendly staff and owner that care about the food they serve! Don't miss out on this treasure of Port Saint Joe!

Great meal here! We were a party of 6 adults on a Friday night. We were told that there was a 45 min to hour wait (to be expected). So we decided to sit at the bar to wait. Great choice, as the bar tender told us we could stay and eat there, no wait! Service was friendly and relaxed. I asked our server, Joe, what the his favorite thing on the menu was, and he told me that it wasn't on the menu, but the crab cakes were his favorite, and they would make them, if requested. They were excellent! Our group enjoyed the baked oysters, steamed shrimp-neat, raw oysters, a po boy, and the grouper special. One of us got the mac and cheese side, and everyone who tried it raved about it. We shared a piece of key lime pie and the white chocolate key lime pie. The regular version was a bit more tart, and was preferred over the white chocolate one. Both were very good. A great quote from one of the staff "Nothing here is fried, if you want fried food, go to McDonald's", love it! Good service, great food and a fun evening!

The steamed shrimp and crab cakes were great and the Mac n cheese casserole was so yummy! Ended our fantastic meal w/Root Beer Floats(a favorite for the kids) and their fabulous White Chocolate Key Lime Pie! You must try this place!!!

Went here while visiting Mexico Beach and found the food to be OK at best. I had the Shrimp and Grits that many other reviewers have raved about. I found the Shrimp and Grits OK, but I did rue the smoked sausage grease that completely overwhelmed the rest of the dish. (It's listed as Smoked Sausage Rue on the menu and it certainly wasn't a roux by any stretch of the imagination, just grease and lots of it.) I also got the highly touted macaroni and cheese side, which was the stuff in the blue box blackened under the broiler. My wife had the Grouper Treasure and found the fish to be nice, but the treasure wasn't. After one bite, she scraped the gloppy mess off the grouper and left it on the plate. Even my younger daughter, who's a hamburger fiend only ate about half before asking if she could leave it - It was way overcooked and dry. My older daughter enjoyed the half pound of steamed shrimp that she had, but when we looked at the receipt later that night, we discovered that we'd been billed for an entire pound rather than the half we ordered. At first, we thought that maybe the waiter misheard and she'd been given a full pound. (We had major trouble hearing him and vice versa since the place is covered in corrugated tin, which makes the acoustics weird and amplifies any sounds.) However, once we got a pound steamed at the Shell Shack a couple of days later, we realized that she received what she ordered, but we payed for the entire pound.

Food was good, very fresh. Raw oysters, crab dip and bee sting ship were excellent. Service was a little slow and no beers on tap but would definitely make the trip from Cap San Blas again. Great local place that everyone should try.

Excellent place for fresh seafood. We went here for dinner twice during our week-long stay in Mexico Beach. Raw oysters were very fresh and clean, blue crab claw appetizer was also very good. I had the grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich one night and the grilled Triple Tail from their special menu the other. Both were very fresh and perfectly seasoned/cooked. Tried a friend's baked oysters "St. Joe" and they were very good. Good selection of beer and a small selection of wine. Prices are very reasonable for the portion size and quality of dishes. Try the Beesting Shrimp appetizer.

Very good service! Waiter not very talkative or overly friendly but was very efficient. Food met our expectations after reading previous reviews. Worth the drive from Cape San Blas. Shrimp and grits was outstanding. Crab cakes were tasty and light. Grouper was as good as expected. We were a bit overdressed for supper but lack of ambiance made up for by quality of food and service.

Fantastic food excellent service, highly recommend the crab bisque and crab cakes. The service was great, very friendly waiter. We were a party of 10 and they had no problem seating us quickly. Very casual, get there early it fills up fast but worth the wait.

Phenomenal! Oysters are fresh and served with impeccable flavor. Menu good for seafood lovers as well as picky kids. Service was more than expected, and very attentive. I would recommend this place over more established restaurants in the area. Definitely a place you don't want to miss while in the area!
